As we’ve been perfecting the recipe for our new chocolate bar, our packaging design department will have been dedicating just as much creativity and care into thinking about what the packaging is going to look like. It’s got to be something eye-catching that stands out on the shelves, appeals to the right people and sums up what the new bar is all about. And of course it has also got to keep the bar in tip-top condition at every stage of its journey.
So our designers will have been beavering away coming up with designs. They’ll make lots of variations and show them to Cadbury staff and then to consumers to see which is the most popular. Something else we always consider is how environmentally friendly the packaging is – for example with the new Treasure Eggs which came out in Easter 2008, we just wrapped them in foil, saving on extra cardboard that uses up the planet’s resources. For more information on current issues in packaging, read the "Our Story - packaging" section.
